Pennies cost the American Economy millions of dollars each year to produce and are pretty much worthless. It takes more than one cent to produce a penny and have you ever tried trying to pay for gas with thirty thousand and sixty-five pennies? No. No one has because it's they don't really work as an exchange for goods and services. The Netherlands (including lots of other countries) got rid of it's pennies and nothing happened. Inflation didn't go up, charitable contributions didn't go down. If we get rid of pennies it would cut the budget and we would save money.
