Our government has become one side vs the other. How are they ever supposed to get anything done.
It is time to change the political party system and due away with them, get an election committee to nominate two or three people they think would be good for this country and let them run as an individual instead of a party. Make politicians vote on what they think, not what their party believes.
Limit elected official to a set number of year (say six years) single term position with no reelection option so they vote for what is right, not what will get them re-elected and let them go back to work after their time is up as an elected official like the constitution says there are suppose to, not get a pension for the rest of their life.
