The reason for this petition is to bring the US into better fiscal responsibility, and to provide a means for our economy to thrive. Paper money has nothing more then sentimental value and should be done away with, while removing smaller 1/5 cent coined currency. By doing this also, the coin will be backed by the very metal or precious content used to create the coin or currency.
Fiscal responsibility and monetary reform are the only ways to even conceivably pull our country out of the financial and economic rutt that we are currently in.
