Get rid of the "pull" that college athletics have on the acceptance of potential students.

This petition is to create legislation that legally prohibits college athletics from having any sort of effect on the chance of the acceptance of students applying. It is seen too often that prestigious universities (such as Northwestern University, University of Michigan, etc...) overlook the 4.0 GPA, 30+ ACT students who work very hard due to their tendency to accept scouted student athletes with less than stellar grades and tests scores. Athletics should have the same relationship that the church and state do, because they are not related at all. This especially affects women, due to the fact that mens' football teams have much more of a "pull" than womens' sports. Often times, colleges accept students that simply cannot handle the rigor, in order to use them for athletic teams.
