I am an individual interested in seeing our country grow and invest on infrastructure and technology of tomorrow. I would like to petition for the administration to look at laws concerning Telecommunication companies and fix laws that hinder competition and growth of our fiber optic infrastructure.
In my hometown of Chicago we have only 2 companies that provide a viable option for internet that will allow (wireless companies cannot really compete a this point for many reasons) . Even these two companies have such a disparity of quality internet service that it ties the customer to a specific ISP to have their needs met. This is a form of monopoly that should be reviewed. I ask that you look at google fiber in Kansas as to what is achievable and push competition to spur such results.
