Make clean government priority one! All other priorities will follow when Congress works for the people again.
14% of Americans approve of Congress today, vs. 70% 30 years ago. Congress spends 30-70% of its time raising money instead of working on issues. Congress's agenda focuses on special interests instead of topics Americans care about. This is a new problem, much worse now than it was a few decades past.
A good place for more info: President Obama's former colleague, Lawrence Lessig, documents Congress's dependence on fundraising in his book "Republic, Lost".
The money problem is at the root of the government's inability to act on our priorities, blocking any hope of sensible decisions. Good ideas, whether from Left or Right, won't win when money wins instead. Fix this first.
