It is unwise to entangle ourselves in yet another Middle Eastern conflict, especially one in which islamist extremists have even a marginal influence.
Sure, we're told that it will be a short strike on Syria, in and out, no boots on the ground. But think Iran. Think Hezbollah. Are the Islamic rebels our allies? Will they defend American interests? Will they impose Shari‘a? Will they tolerate Christians, or will they pillage and destroy ancient Christian churches and people? How can you justify this action, when there is no imminent threat to national security?
There needs to be an answer to Syria. Whatever it is, it should at the very least involve the full support of the United Nations Security Council.
