An over due recognition of the "natives" 1st nation people's history, plight, and current standing in the states. To give a month of awareness to the culture, art, language, and literature of all First Nation clans and tribes. To inspire all 1st nation people's to participate in all levels of government. To give 1 st nation a voice in immigration, environment, security, agriculture, education, and in resource gathering issues to name a few. To give the original inhabitant of this land a direct say in its future. This can only be seen as a step in the right direction in educating all Americans in the origins of this great and mighty lands history. Truely correcting wrongs from the beginning, can we move forward with pride.
