Give All Felons the Right to Vote

Created by W.D. on September 27, 2011

Many states have laws prohibiting felons from voting during the term of their incarceration, parole, probation, or even for the rest of their lives. Due to decades of politicians wanting to look "tough on crime" we now have a situation where more and more offences are classified as felonies. The result of this combination is a large portion of the population who have been disenfranchised from the voting process, no longer able to let their voices be heard in the election of our leaders. It is our desire that the Obama Administration would work to correct this injustice, either by lobbying congress to pass legislation prohibiting states from taking away any citizens right to vote, or encouraging the Federal Election Commission to introduce regulations to the same effect.
