Give all members of congress an ultimatum: Do your job in a timely manner and in the people's best interest, or lose it

Created by C.W. on November 18, 2011

With just 9% public approval, congress needs to get its act together. Instead of voting the fruit-based sauce on pizza as being a vegetable, they should be balancing the budget and working in the best interest of the citizens of the United States of America.

Any member of congress that stalls, impedes, or generally distracts the congregation of politicians from completing their job should be immediately fired from their position and their pensions withheld.

This includes filibustering, proposing unimportant legislation, and blocking votes by refusing to participate. This will be judged by attendance and participation.

Additionally, their rate of pay should immediately be reduced to $1 per year until a sensible budget that curbs the deficit is agreed upon and SOPA is defeated.
