Everyday, hundreds of Americans move. They work, they change their address, and they re-register to vote in the state which they live. However, as someone who recently moved, the registrations--even multiple ones--don't always go through. Now I'm facing one of the most decisive elections in American history and I am unable to vote in the country I was born in. This is voter silencing. This is silencing the voice of the American people. This is what teaches children that voting isn't worth it.
I call upon the American government to automatically and permanently register its citizens to vote. No more will lost paperwork, moves, and other factors keep hardworking and opinionated citizens silent. Now is the time to make voter registration automatic in all 50 states.
