America was founded on the idea of equal representation of all citizens. When this nation was founded, the logistics of carrying out this idea were so daunting that the closest we could come was a congress elected by the people to represent us, and three branches of government to keep them in check. However, in these times, the ability to voice our opinions as individuals is instantaneous, and there is a growing divide between the wants and needs of the people, and the actions of those granted to right to represent them. This would grant us the right as a nation to decide what is best for us without the outside influences of lobbyists or corporate interests. What's more, this should be used as a tool to break political gridlock. If congress doesn't want to act on our behalf, we will.
