Jumping Spiders are a branch of the tree of life that is harmless to humans and often hunt harmful insects. However, due to the social acceptability of arachnophobia they are frequently killed (often with fire). This results in a net increase in diseases spread by biting insects and poses a public health risk.
They have diverged significantly from other arachnids and deserve behave very much like tiny kittens. They stare at their prey as they slowly stalk them down. They will chase a laser pointer. They wiggle their butts when they get excited. They wash their eyeballs with their pedipalps.
They even do something kittens do not. They wear water drops as fancy hats.
We propose giving Jumping Spiders the additional common name 'Octokittens' to properly reflect their adorbz.
