give authority to the US Department of Labor to oversee, enforce and penalize Federal employers in violation of FMLA Law

Created by B.B. on January 30, 2014

The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) provides certain employees with up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave per year. It also requires that their group health benefits be maintained during the leave.
The Department of Labor administers FMLA;however, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) administers FMLA for most federal employees.

The Act provides for FMLA coverage to extend to Federal workers, it does not provide OPM or DOL to ENFORCE FMLA or take action against a Federal employer in violation. The Federal workforce should have at least equal protection under FMLA as private sector employees.

I petition the President to provide OPM or DOL the necessary authority to enforce/penalize/fine Federal employer violations of FMLA and provide legal recourse for ALL Fed employees.
