This petition seeks to push for the creation of legislation similar to Italy's Marcora Law, wherein it is stated that unemployed citizens have a choice between receiving monthly payments of unemployment, OR to gather a group of unemployed citizens together to receive unemployment in a lump sum for the purpose of starting a cooperative business.
This law would create needed jobs, as well as reinforce democratic principals necessary for furthering the development and progress of America. It will also provide for a creative and adaptable business model, as cooperatives are driven by the group of workers, allowing for democratic adjustments to the direction of production.
