The school system my child attends has recently established The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) exam. Many parents struggle to find the positives of this exam, and a large amount are turning their backs and refusing to let their children take the PARCC. I, and many parents, believe that there should be a formal way of opting their children out of state testing. Refusal is a way of relieving our children from the struggles and stress of state testing, but we feel that parents should be allowed to make a formal action in removing their children from state testing and have their decisions be protected and justified by a law or laws. Parents should be included and have more of a say in what changes and edits are being made to our children's educations.
