Retirement planning should be a personal choice. We are a diverse nation of people, each with out own priorities, capabilities, and goals.
The federal government should not force citizens to pay into a retirement system that for current generations results in a net loss of wealth over time.
Without the availability of Social Security, many might lack the self-discipline to plan for retirement. Therefore, keep the system in place for those who want or need it, and unshackle those of us who prefer to make our own plans.
The opportunity cost of our retirement dollars are too precious to have them squandered away.
Anyone who signs up for this would choose to abandon all previous contributions in exchange for the ability to never have SS withheld again and never receive payouts.
