Give consumers better alternatives for energy consumption

With the rise of energy costs, most of America is still using fossil fuel energy for gas, heating and electricity. With the cost of these resources on a consistant rise, many middle and lower class citizens (especially elderly) are finding it harder and harder to pay for the out of control costs for every day activities. Solar power is good but it's still very costly just to buy and install, cost is anywhere between $5000-$15000 depending on energy needs. Where's the savings in that? Let's make alternative energy more readily available to the average Joe and quit consuming polluting resources when there are safer and cleaner energy resources. Let's make alternative energy cheaper/free and lessen our dependence on the rest of the world!
