I served in the U.S ARMY, including a tour in Iraq. When I got out and returned home I sought employment. I found a job that has a second chance program for individuals who have felonies and have been incarcerated, excluding sex offenders. These are some of the hardest working people I have ever worked with. They are very grateful for the opportunity to receive a decent paying job. I work with a young adult that was very exited to join the Army, but got rejected due to a crime he committed in his youth. I would feel safe and honored to serve with someone who is willing to change their life around and serve in the greatest military in the world. Through a rigid selection process, I believe those who are willing to put their life on the line should get a second chance too.
