Give convicted felons that have committed and act of assault in any degree an automatic charge of murder when person die

Change is needed in assault laws. Criminals that are charged with an assault and are serving a sentence for that crime should also be charged in a separate charge for murder when the victim dies. Too many times the years that have gone by and the DA will not take on these cases. The risk of going through another trial and losing a case might set free a killer. I think that if that one conviction is made and the sentence is being served then the person charged with the assault then get charged with murder. A separate trial completely. This needs to be added to a criminals record that he did indeed murder someone. I want to bring a change so that the community will know when someone is released from prison. We have a right to know what is coming into our neighborhood and our workplaces.
