Simply put, this petition is designed to make the administration give a definitive answer on whether it will ever use drones to kill American citizens on American soil. The administration's response to Senator Rand Paul was not an acceptable response, as it only states that the administration is not currently planning such drone strikes. This does not give an answer on whether the administration will use drones for this purpose in the future, and I feel that the American people deserve a definitive answer to this question.
