The DNI is nothing more than a figure head. The position has no real power unless supported by the White House and Congress. The ODNI should have more power to direct, supervise and guide the Intelligence Community. The DNI should also be given an official seat on the Cabinet to give it more legitimacy as an institution. The DNI should also have the authority to sanction members of the IC, including senior level offices for any failures that may result
