After hearing Stuart Headley (PH survivor) describe the horrific actions that took place on 07 Dec 1941 and how Doris "Dorie" Miller was the only man not to receive the Medal of Honor, I was not only disappointed but also offended that we (a nation) would be blinded by race/skin color after showing such an act of bravery, selflessness in the time of war. Dorie did not deserve a Navy Cross, he deserved/deserves the Medal of Honor. We as a nation, should have never discriminated against our own especially in a time of need that was the beginning of WWII.
