Edward Snowden should be protected under the Whistleblowers Protection Act. President Obama, you have the ability to grant him a presidential pardon to allow him to return to the United States as a free man. His disclosures did not risk national security, they just confirmed what many in both domestic and foreign intelligence agencies already knew or assumed. The only result is that the citizens of the world outside those communities now knew how much invasion of privacy had happened. Not pardoning him would be seen as if the US government does not protect whistleblowers nor values world citizens knowing how little privacy they have. Without Snowden doing what he did, the way he did it, there never would have been a global discussion.
