As it appears that a number of American citizens have taken their loss in the recent election particularly hard and have decided that they don't wish to be a part of our "More Perfect Union" any longer, it behooves our elected officials as well as the rest of us who believe in our system - as imperfect as it is - to reach out to these hurting souls with two things that they need most: Comfort food and a shoulder to cry on. I therefore call on the President and Congress to declare a day on which these misguided secessionists may step forward and share a cup of warm soup of a flavor of their choice from their state representative and a hug of reassurance to remind them that, winners or losers, we all have to stick together.
