give Federal employees Christmas Eve off from work as a holiday as recognition of their contributions during 2013.

Created by J.M. on December 11, 2013

Federal Employees have received the short end of the stick in 2013. Many have been forced to take two sets of furloughs -- the first of which they lost all of their pay permanently. They have not received a cost-of-living increase or any other raise in years. Many Federal employees, especially in the Department of Defense, are military veterans just trying to make ends meet and take care of their families. Giving Federal employees Christmas Eve off work did wonders for employee morale last year -- so in the spirit of not fixing what isn't broke -- we are asking the President to grant the holiday off this year as well. This will give Federal workers two full days off to spend with their families and reminding themselves what they are fighting for every day that they go to work.
