Felons are branded as outcasts in the jobforce, although many simply made stupid choices during their youth & aren't repeat offenders. Employers see felons ineligible for work, instead of considering the time that has passed since the crime was committed. Felons are hard pressed to provide for their families, & many able, qualified people are left working low paying jobs that promote welfare dependence & instability. Felons deserve a 2nd chance & the right to work in their communities!
Give felons equal employment rights & keep employers from discriminating against ALL felons who:
~Have felonies 10 yrs old as of the date of application for employment
~Have never been convicted of violent or sex crimes
Without change, both felons & their families are doomed to live as societal nothings!
