It is next to impossible to get a mortgage for off grid homes without 30% or more down. Please assist banks and federal insurance programs to be more lenient with off grid funding. This what saves our resources and our planet. Instead I have found that no matter the quality of the solar or wind system installed if you are not tied to the biggest carbon footprint of all... The grid... You can not get a mortgage. Also many counties and agencies penalize or criminalize citizens for attempting to live if grid. Many in the county I live in have been fined or removed from their land for trying to live and build a house off grid. They can't just buy one or get a building mortgage because if the off grid underwriting problems. This I believe is a huge problem in our country. Thank you
