The innocent, beautiful, graceful, and peaceful 450-pound silverback western lowland gorilla was born at the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, Texas, on May 27, 1999, and came to Cincinnati in September 2014. On May 28, 2016, at 17, Harambe was shot and killed in cold blood after a child fell into Gorilla World at Cincinnati Zoo. His protection of the fallen child was mistaken for aggression by the inexperienced zoo keepers, and as a result he was murdered.
Since that dreadful day, Harambe has become a beloved celebrity. People at all walks of life have come together to mourn a fallen hero. His actions strike inspiration in us all. As a token of our gratitude, this petition is to demand the city of Los Angeles, CA give Harambe a star on Hollywood's famous walk of fame.
