The current penalty fines and length of imprisonment as punishment for criminal animal cruelty in the United States are not harsh enough! Animals are innocent and deserve an extent of rights too! Animal cruelty is sick and despicable and consequences of this criminal act should be taken more seriously in the court of law. Therefore, this petition is asking for higher maximum punishments nationwide for persons guilty of cruelty and abuse towards animals.
