Educating our children is an investment in both their future and the future of our Union. And while our fine schools attend to the intellectual development of our future leaders it is important that children be supported in the emotional development as well.
Kindness, Generosity, Honesty, Loyalty, Laughter and Faith are the elements which make not only great children, but great citizens. They contribute to a harmony between civic and personal responsibilities every adult must eventually adopt. It is to develop these elements of harmony that we formally request a White House initiative to create a free and permanent home for high quality children's programming in the medium appropriate for the age.
