Change focus from what is on paper to the actual character of potential recruits. Many recruits, who are in their younger years, have done some stupid things like most teenagers and young men have. Just because someone received a traffic ticket once or tried a recreational drug once or twice shouldn't mean they are forever barred from serving in our armed forces. Its even worse when there are people serving right now who have done worse but just never got caught. Serving is not a right, it is a privilege. But the privilege shouldn't be reserved for those who were just smart enough not to get caught. Let's be honest - we've all done stupid stuff when we were young.
