We as Americans enjoy many freedoms, however our soldiers do not. When soliders no longer want to be in the military they do not have the right to quit. Where else in society are people punished for walking away from a life they don't want? Three core principles in American society are the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Those in the military do not enjoy the right to liberty because they are not free to leave, nor do they have the right to pursue happiness if that happiness lies outside the military. In every aspect of American life we have true freedom, other than the military. The military is not for everyone and those who volunteer their time should also have the right to resign when they no longer feel like the army is right for them.
