Tax payer and money donated for cancer research is wasted on the same big pharmaceutical companies. While independent cancer researchers are not given any money to advance their research. This results in a monopoly given only to big pharmaceutical companies. As a result of this practice cancer therapies have been limited to chemotherapy dating back to the 1970s and 1980s even though the success rate has only been about 2.1%. While radiation therapy has caused similar results. It is time that we level the playing field and give money to independent researchers. Additionally, there should be no conflict of interest with FDA and NCI government heads and employees as there is now with the drug companies. No employees shall have been or be allowed to work within the drug companies.
