Currently, NASA receives less than half of one percent of the US federal budget, which, given their value and ROI is ludicrous. They benefit this country and the rest of the world in innumerable ways. They are an inspiration worldwide, and the intellectual capital we gain as a nation is immeasurable. All the technology we take for granted today is a direct result of the Apollo program inspiring a generation to pursue careers in science, technology, and engineering. Whether you realize it or not, NASA has had a hand in making all of our lives better, and continues to do so today.
It is time for all of us to get behind NASAs next great challenge, the mission to Mars. Space exploration and colonization is our future, so let's make sure NASA receives the proper funding to make it a reality.
