Give the nation Capital's (DC Department of corrections) officers a humane retirement (pension).

Created by E.T. on April 20, 2014

The Washington DC Department of Corrections (DOC), is the only law enforcement agency in the criminal justice system of our beloved nation capital which doesn't have a retirement (Pension). But these brave officers spend more time with Convicted felons and pre-trial misdemeanants and risk their life daily more than the court and the police combined. Yet Police Officers and The court system all have a pension, but the DOC. All neighboring counties in Virginia and Maryland have a pension for their correctional officers why not the NATION CAPITAL? Correctional Officers have one of the lowest life expectancy in all law enforcement combined. But they can't even live long enough in order to enjoy a PENSION. Since DC is not a state, only an act of congress will solve this issue.
