Give parents the right to decide if their pregnant child under age 16 keeps the baby or not

Created by L.A. on December 30, 2012

A minor under age 16 is not mature enough to solely decide whether to keep the baby or not. The minor can not drive, buy cigarettes etc they should not be allowed to make a life altering decision that will affect their life, a child's life, or their parents life.
In NC a child can not even 'consent' to having sex until they are 16 . But, if they become pregnant they are then considered an adult until the baby is born. Once the baby is born that minor & their baby becomes the responsibility of the minor's parents & the minor is no longer considered an adult.
