The average person knows people who commit crimes are punished by being forced to spend time in jail. However, convicted felons lose more than this type of freedom as part of their punishment. In some states, they can permanently lose rights, such as the right to vote or to own a gun , all government assistance for the rest of there life , and discremination when trying to get a job . If they do there sentance there should be a time limit and they should get all there rights back if they are being tax paying citizens . If they will never have or get there rights back then shouldnt have to pay taxes to a government that has prosecuted them for life . A safe percentage of U.S. citizens with felonies are 15% to 25% being closer to the 25% the rest of the population either didnt get caught.
