Give the people more control over government spending.

Let the US citizens make the decisions on elected and appointed officials raises. If the government can't come to an agreement in a timely fashion on the debt of the US take the elected and appointed officials pay away until they do. Limit the amount and length of time an elected official will be paid and have insurance coverage paid by the US citizens. These are issues the elected officials refuse to consider. These positions are a privalage not a career but they are making a career of these positions. Elected officials should find career for their retirement pension or be limited to social security pay and savings for their retirement. The currant benefits for elected officials has became a burden on this countries economy.
