Originally, the states had decided wether or not to allow or ban gay marriage, the outcome: 37 of the 50 states allowed gay marriage, and 13 states had banned it.
But, the presidency over ruled the individual decisions of the states, and through an executive order, chose gay marriage to be allowed in all 50 states.
As a nation, we must keep our government in check.
Executive orders were meant to be held and used for times of dire need, such as war, not for internal social decisions.
We must protect our power, our voices and rights. The nation should not turn a blind eye to this unnecessary and excessive overuse of power.
Sign the petition so that the states can have their voice back, and keep the original decision of having 37 states for gay marriage, and 13 states banning gay marriage.
