There are many reasons why immigrants are undocumented. Commonly they chose to stay when their visa expired. Most of them are careful and law-abiding. Giving them resident status will allow them to openly have jobs, pay taxes, and be productive members of our society. This petition does not apply to undocumented immigrants who have committed a crime.
