The current election system is not working—how can our government claim to be "for the people, by the people," when "We the People" have no say in primary elections? The amount of influence we are given over nominating candidates to represent our parties is negligible; this nation was founded upon democratic principles, and the delegate system completely undermines them. The popular vote should count for much more than it realistically does. As a solution to this issue, we propose the use of a ranked choice voting system in future presidential elections. This would give the people more control over who becomes president. Please, fix our broken system!
