To close the gun show loophole for firearms purchases allow the public access to the background check system to purchase a firearm to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. If such a policy was in place their would be no excuse for a firearm to be sold to a person barred from ownership of firearms. If a prohibited person is found in possession of a firearm the person that sold the firearm without the check would be guilty of a crime. As would the person in possession of the firearm. Common sense gun control without more regulations.
If the government was serious about gun controll this would be the obvious path. But the governments push for more laws is in fact moving to ban firearms outright. This is an easy option to gun control without more laws or bans that are not effective.
