We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Give the Right to Vote to Legal Permanent Residents (LPRs) and H1B workers!

Created by S.J. on September 03, 2016

There are currently approximately 13 MILLION Legal Permanent Residents (LPRs) and hundreds of thousands of H1B workers in the US who pay all local, state and federal taxes and are directly affected by state and federal policies and legislation. Due to current unnecessary and prolonged path to permanent resident-ship and subsequently citizenship, these legal residents are disenfranchised for DECADES and are made to feel like second class citizens. Why should they be deprived of their right to select officials who enact policies which directly affect them, when they perform all their duties to legally stay in the United States. Just like elected officials have terms, permanent residents have terms to stay legal, so elections will be affected only by residents abiding by the law.
