We would like to honor the extraordinary life and career of Sam Jones. Jones is a 10-time NBA champion, humanitarian, educator, and mentor. He won the second most NBA championships of all time (only behind Bill Russell with 11). He was the first player drafted from an HBCU North Carolina Central University.
Sam was a dedicated humanitarian, credited for starting many basketball camps all over the east coast. He was been a teacher and mentor to many young men. Earning a degree in education, Jones also taught in school.
Sam is well respected by many in and outside of the world of basketball, yet he is still considered one of the most unknown and underrated players of all time. This petition would help him earn the recognition he deserves.
