Give South Carolina Security Breach/Identity Theft Victims New Social Security Numbers

Created by C.B. on December 28, 2012

Tax data at the South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) was compromised due to a recent security breach. Millions of South Carolina constituents had their personal information (including SSN, bank account data, etc.) STOLEN during a SCDOR security breach. Even with a one-year "free" ProtectMyID alert program, the fear of having one's identity stolen will hang over the heads of South Carolina theft identity victims for the rest of their lives, including my own; as I too, was a victim of this senseless, malicious, no-fault-of-my-own security breach. The ONLY justifiable way to stop criminals from stealing identities and for giving South Carolina citizens peace of mind and the freedom from constant fear of losing their identity is to give confirmed breach victims a NEW SSN!
