Give the states along the Gulf of Mexico a 30 mile border to regulate size and creel limits of fish caught in saltwater.

As it is now, the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) is largely controlled by federal regulations, leaving only a few miles of waterway controlled by the states. We propose that the states have more control over season, size and creel limits of fish taken from the waters of the GOM and extend the state boundaries to 30 nautical miles. Each state would be responsible for doing research to determine the amount of fish to be taken for the following season.
