America is more polarized now than at any time since the Civil War. The country is split into two similarly-sized camps, each believing that the other's core ideals are wrong or even evil. In a recent poll, 40% of Trump supporters said they believe that Hillary Clinton is an "actual demon”.
The Republican Party has intentionally obstructed the operation of the federal government for years. Now the Democratic Party is vowing to do the same. Meanwhile, our divided government has struggled to approve funding for even basic needs like maintaining infrastructure, fighting Zika, and making debt payments.
Please give the states the right to secede from the union so that the United States can peacefully divide itself into smaller, more governable, and less polarized entities.
