Give students K-12 the right to a 45 Minute Lunch break without assigned seating, seats for all for healthy eating, VA

Created by A.R. on February 23, 2013

Children in Virginia Schools are being forced to eat while standing, only given 5 minutes to eat food and are treated in some schools as prisoners are in jails. All children should be allowed to arrive at a cafeteria, get their lunch, sit down and eat for at least 20 minutes and even have time to use the bathroom. This is not happening. One school assigns seating and will only give a 25 minute break which includes calling up 15 tables separately to get their food. The last table may have 5 minutes to eat.
Healthy eating in schools also requires a healthy amount of time. We need a strict policy that ensures 45 minutes for this.
