Give tax exemptions to companies who adopt environmentally friendly policies

We do a lot of damage to the environment, but seeing as environmental cleanup is expensive, wouldn't it be more economically effective to give tax exemptions to companies who are willing to take up environmental damage prevention policies? That way, the environmental damage is reduced, without costing anyone too much money. Also, although environmental prevention is more effective then environmental cleanup, i also suggest we give grants to companies who are willing to clean up they're own environmental damage.
